Top 10 Releases of 2025

My Top 10 Releases of 2025!

  1. Sunshine & Balance Beams- Pile

If you guessed that my number one album of the year was Pile’s newest release, I may be more predictable than I thought. We’ll see what my top scrobbled artist of the year is on last.fm at a later date; my listening has been sporadic and eclectic this year.

  1. To Forever Fall Through God’s Safety Net- Killing Me Softly

One day, I was unaware of this band; the next day, I was extremely aware and quite pleased. Killing Me Softly, as far as I’m concerned, came out of nowhere and then very quickly permeated a number of my playlists.

  1. The Spiritual Sound- Agriculture

The homie Zeke showed me this band a couple of months ago, and I dig it a lot, so I figured I would include it despite knowing absolutely nothing about this band.

4. RAW MILK- DIRT PILE

I fricken made the album cover (front and back) for this, I feel like this album’s step-father. This album is like a child to me because, overall, it was made by great people, and it was a privilege to work with the Dirt Dudes.

5. How I Fell In Love With The Void- Intercourse

A bunch of very nice guys playing not-so-nice music, Intercourse has been a long-term favorite of mine. A pleasure to see live, and a pleasure to play in the car with your mom. They really did it with this one.

6. Camgirl- Crippling Alcoholism

I saw this band in early 2025 and immediately fell in love with the album With Love From A Padded Room. When Camgirl was released, I fell in love with that one, too. I can only assume the pattern will continue.

7. S/T- Jaw Wired Shut

Some dudes from CT started a metalcore band, and it’s terrific. This was only released very recently, but I think they’re gonna put Connecticut back on the map.

8. Hexes- The Saddest Landscape

This came out like 4 days ago or something, so I don’t have a lot to say about this other than I enjoy The Saddest Landscape and have frequently in the past, I’m excited to see them coming back.

9. Breach- Twenty One Pilots

I know what you’re thinking, and I literally don’t care. I got to see August’s favorite band with him this summer, and it damn near made my entire life. I had so much fun, I am getting a tattoo about it.

10. Well, Whatever It Was- Joyce Manor

I have to include this because I’m seeing Joyce Manor next year with one of my best friends, whom I met in our freshman year of high school. We used to go to shows all the time back then, including Warped Tour a couple of times. Plus, I have always had a deep love of Joyce Manor.

Thanks for reading. 🙂
